《模拟火车》是一款模拟类游戏，在游戏中玩家将可以在完全模拟美国和德国的铁路轨道上经营自己的蒸汽机车、内燃机车和电力机车。玩家最大的乐趣就是可以自己设计自己的理想旅行路线，给自己完全定制一个旅程。
在游戏中，玩家能操控各种火车从五千吨的现代原型柴油车，或老式的巨型蒸汽式列车。玩家可在其中指示新型火车全速前进、畅游全球五大知名铁路与逼真的景色。而游戏中人们来来往往车站、缓缓移动的车辆，都让这款游戏更加生动有趣。该作由Kuju Entertainment负责开发，EA代理发行。
